Best Phone Interview Tips- Answering Phone Interview Questions

Phone interviews can be tricky. But there are phone interview tips that will help you answer questions. Telephone interviews are just like face to face interviews except that you don’t have some of those visual cues that you get when you are sitting in front of that person.

The first thing you should do is to get some energy going. Make sure that that energy is maintained throughout the interview. Be prepared. The questions that you are going to get are going to be very similar to what you are going to get in a face to face interview. Questions like, tell me what you know about the job. Make sure you’ve done some research. Make sure you know something about the job you are applying for.

There might also be some questions about when you could come in for a next interview. Make sure you got your appointment calendar and you know when you’re available. Be prepared to answer questions about yourself, about your duties and responsibilities at your last job. Write them down, have them right there for you.

The advantage of interviewing over the phone is that you can have notes and other resources ready and the interviewer wouldn’t care about it. So all resources can be used and what are left would be your enthusiasm and your ability to answer the questions and to answer them so simply. Also, because you don’t have the opportunity for the visual cues, make sure that you ask the interviewer, “is that the answer you’re looking for?”

You can also ask, “Is there something else that you want me to expound about the question”? Make sure that you’re communicating clearly and you will get to the next level. These phone interview tips are simple enough but many people tend to overlook them. Apply these tips and it would give you an edge in a phone interview.
